If you’ve been out on Morse lately, you’ve probably heard about the new Indiana boating laws that went into effect on July 1. Here are two of the biggest changes that many of us on the lake should know about:

🚨 Engine Kill Switch Required

If your boat is equipped with an engine kill switch (cut-off switch), the operator is now required to wear or use it while underway. It’s a simple safety feature that helps prevent runaway boats if the driver is thrown from the helm.

🌅 No Wake Surfing After Sunset

The Handbook of Indiana Boating Laws

Wake surfing is now prohibited between sunset and sunrise on Indiana’s public lakes, including Morse Reservoir. If you’re planning an evening on the water, make sure to get those surf sessions in before the sun goes down.
